In December 2001, the West Virginia Board of Education approved the Content Standards and Objectives (CSOs) for WV Schools to be effective March 2003. The WV Basic Skills Project Office has created a database of the correlations between the CSOs and latest courseware (educational software) available through the WV Basic Skills/Computer Eductation project.
This database is navigated using the CSO correlations menu on the left. If you know which Content Standards and Objectives (CSOs) you wish to investigate, click on Browse CSOs. CSOs by grade shows the same information categorized by grade level. Each entry in these views is operated with a blue triangle called a "twisty". Click on the twisties to expand and collapse the entry. Use the twisties to "drill down" through the levels of information to see individual CSO definitions. Each definition shows the Basis Skills courseware correlated to that objective.
If you know which piece of Basic Skills courseware you wish to investigate, click on Browse courseware. This provides a alphabetical list of the courseware titles included in the database. Courseware by grade and Courseware by content provide the same list organized by grade and CSO content area respectively. Use the twisties to drill down to descriptions of individual unit, lesson, and activities within the courseware. Each description shows the CSOs that correlate to that unit, lesson, and activity. Not all Basic Skills courseware has been included in this database. Not all schools have purachased all courseware titles. Some courseware titles may no longer be available.

To enable cross-referencing, the CSO identifiers used in this database differ slightly from the official notation. The table below highlights the differences.
